Abrussels a Mons per il DouDou !

Una delegazione di Abrussels ha partecipato alla manifestazione DouDou di Mons, l`11 giugno 2017.

Il Doudou, anche detta La Processione del Carro d’oro, esiste da ben 657 anni e si tiene ogni anno nel weekend della Trinità. Riconosciuta Patrimonio Immateriale dell’Umanità dell’Unesco, rappresenta il fiore all’occhiello della città di Mons e del Belgio stesso.

Un corteo parte dalla collegiata Sainte-Waudru e sfila per le vie di Mons fino alle 12, ora della fantastica salita del Carro D’Oro. Questo carro, che chiude il corteo, porta il reliquiario di Sainte-Waudru, patrona della città, che implorata dagli abitanti avrebbe protetto la città dall’epidemia della peste.

Al suono del Doudou (canzone popolare che ritma la festività) sulla Grand Place di Mons si svolge il combattimento di origine medievale tra il Drago e San Giorgio, nell’eterna lotta tra il bene e il male, ognuno aiutato da una schiera di “alleati” cittadini di Mons.

Le 11 juin 2017, une délégation de Abrussels a participé au DouDou de Mons.

Le DouDou, aussi appelé la Procession du Chariot d’Or, existe depuis 657 ans et a lieu chaque année pendant le weekend de la Trinité. Reconnu comme Patrimoine immatériel de l’UNESCO, le DouDou représente le fleuron de la ville de Mons et même de la Belgique.

Un cortège part de la collégiale Sainte-Waudru et défile pour les rues de Mons jusqu’à 12 heure, quand le Chariot d’Or y arrive. Ce chariot, qui ferme la procession, porte le reliquaire de Sante-Waudru, patrone de la ville, qui implorée par les habitants, aurait sauvé la ville de l’épidémie de la peste.

Au son du DouDou (chanson populaire qui donne le rythme à la fête) à la Grand Place de Mons il a lieu le combat d’origine médiévale entre le Dragon et Saint George. La lutte éternelle entre le bien et le mal est beaucoup sentie par les habitants de Mons qui s’allier avec l’un ou l’autre.

The 11^th of June 2017 a delegation from Abrussels took part in the DouDou occurrence in Mons.

The DouDou, also named as the Golden Chariot Parade, has been celebrated for 657 years and it is held every year during the Trinity weekend. It is recognised as UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage and it represents the flagship not only of Mons but of the whole Belgium.

The procession starts from the Collegiate Church of Sainte-Waudru and parades through the streets of Mons until 12 o’ clock, when the Golden Chariot gets there. The Chariot, that closes the parade, brings the reliquary of Sainte-Waudru, patron of the city. It is said that, implored by its inhabitants, Sainte-Waudru protected Mons from the epidemic plague.

At the Grand Place in Mons it’s held the medieval fight between the Dragon and Saint George: in the eternal struggle between the good and the evil, they are both helped by the inhabitants of Mons who side with the one or the other, always crooning the Doudou, a popular song that gives the rhythm to the festivity .
